redwood national park
Pairs well with The Overstory by Richard Powers
The Overstory won a truckload of awards, including the 2019 Pulitzer Prize in fiction. You need to bring your patience when you crack into this novel because like most trees, it's a slow grow. The Overstory follows a handful of people over decades, but the context of the narrative is more extensive than human life. You'll learn a lot about trees and the interconnectedness of all living things. If only Powers could have explained the creepy mist that shrouded the redwoods. He didn’t include a chapter about the natural hunting ground for serial killers, but I’m pretty sure this was it.
